are there any specifics or is this just speculation, not doubting it will happen, just wonder if there is more concrete indications or evidence to support?

Not sure if the Pointnext is being introduced to make this all a better proposition for some equity company.

Well stated and I agree.

Meg took control of a company that covered a broad spectrum of new technology products. Rather than rewarding employees and growing the company by allowing us to do what we do best, she and the board started lopping off important and profitable groups of employees while shopping for new acquisitions which will never add to the top or bottom line and will simply be a future sacrifices.

It's funny how some members of the media access sites like these trying to get heads ups for their articles. That speaks for the value of a site like this... To answer the reporter question... Of course there will be several small buyouts... HPE's ability to generate additional revenue is ZERO at this point (well, "negative", actually year over year). They desperately need to keep acquiring successful and innovative startups. Just think about it... Acquiring a startup is way much cheaper than investing in R&D....

Another thing you'll see in the next few months is a massive sell of what they'll refer as "non-core" patents and IP portfolios. Funny enough, they weren't sold early in 2016 because they were considered "business critical" and a market differentiation. Next in line are any remaining "non-flash" storage products AND the Industry Standard Servers... Hang around with us... This year will mark the end of HPE as a stand-alone independent traded Company.
