Thread regarding Anadarko Petroleum Corp. layoffs

move to midland or your toast

Can Anadarko legally require your family to move to get the bonus? Seems pretty sneaky and every family has unique circumstances that may incline them to leave a spouse or children in The Woodlands. Anyone questioned this and what feedback did you get? Being forced into take transfer or no job or severence. The bonus is optional and is stipulated on your family moving.

I was let go from Gillette and built almost everything apc had in Gillette. I went to work right away thanks apc for my 25 years of serverance . I was in management with you and you left a incompetent manager in kc and incompetent supervision crew that absolutely will fail and possibly kill or hurt someone. You believed your core values . until that day. Your core values are abunch of crap. Watch what happens with what you left. News news!!!! I have a good idea why don't you Anadarko go and test your field management meaning kc Barnes and the supervision he has in place . I bet you find out what I already know. About gas processing . Before you have a incident that makes the news. And causes a death.

Agreed. It is best to think of yourself as a contractor and not an APC employee. To be believe you are valued is going to lead to heartbreak and disappointment. I was laid off in March and have recovered rather well, but it hasn't been easy. Good luck to everyone, although I hear the industry is picking up.

Then don't take the bonus and try to move on your own. It does not matter if it is right or wrong for the company to ask a person to move. It happens all the time and you can tell them no, and try to find something else. Anadarko is here to make a buck and could care less how that affects a family. If you buy in to all the BS about loyalty you are out of luck. Very few companies care about the individual or family, and especially one as large as Anadarko. Very simply, put in a good days work for a good days pay and forget about being taken care of. The sooner you learn to look out for yourself the better off you will be.
