Thread regarding EMC Corp. layoffs

What the hell did you expect!

What's wrong with you people? Wake up! The company exists to return profit to the shareholders. While employees are important to this they are not the priority. While you're dancing on the lawn celebrating #GoBigWinBig executives behind the scenes we're jostling for posting and sizing up who will be chopped.

If you're not expecting to be laid off you're doing it wrong. Get some cash behind you, pay down your rediculous credit card debt, clean up your resume and excepted the very real fact you could go.

News flash, they don't care about you! They never did and never will. It doesn't mean you can't have a fulfilling enjoyable career but don't get complacent and comfortable with the company.

Well said. As long as you understand corporate ladder, life is good. Under skilled and under performing employees have jobs.

Play your cards right, EMC and Dell managers both s---. Dell will be doomed.

EMC management is not the worst, it is a clown contest. Seriously unskilled people who got their jobs because.. well, who knows why? EMC is a good company to be from.

EMC management is worst. Too much of hiring, attrition and layoffs. They hire lot of staff and show their team is loaded with work. Most teams sit ideally for months during a release, with not enough work.

Mr. Dell you will be better off, if you can understand how EMC staff is managed. Too much of politics and getting rid of cream.

Mr. Executive, I believe you mean "accept" "except" you used the wrong word and obviously they don't teach trivial things like that in executive school. Nooo, they are too busy teaching you how to hose stockholders and abuse company credit cards and expense accounts. Nobody can have a fulfilling career when the inmates are in charge. They would rather layoff people than cutback on taking their friends, girlfriends and family out on their company cards and planning meetings in locations they want to vacation so their friends and family can join them. Most of the managers, all the way to the top, belong in orange jumpsuits. Such a dirty sleazy culture where collusion, cover-up, discrimination and dishonesty is what keeps you employed and if you are really good at it, it gets you promoted.

The managers needed to go a long time ago and if they had, EMC would not be Dell today. But, at least you will be ready when your time comes and clearly you are expecting it since you know you already make way too much money and blowing up your expense account doesn't leave time for much else. How long do you think Dell will let EMC managers hose them?

Exactly. It doesn't take an engineer to figure out that Dell is getting a zero return on their biggest expense: EMC managers. The only notable thing EMC management has done is mismanage the company into DELL. Here's a tip: when you have to keep laying off employees to get closer to your forecasted numbers, there is a problem with management but now that's just another one of Dell's problems.
