Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY

I have come to the conclusion that we are f&$@ed no matter what we do. If management (sups and managers) are so gung-ho for ats and the new company, why are they taking the buyouts in record numbers. I think I speak for many seasoned techs when I say, I wish they would offer me a buyout, I'd take it and run, maybe even skip. They know what's happening to this company, its going to s$&t!! I wish there was some form of transparency from this company. IMO, they're holding out as long as they can to see what happens with the unions.

I think a lot of the backlash on this website is from upper management trying to "stir the pot", and if so, you're doing a good job. But know this, shops on the island are on the verge of having enough cards signed to call for a vote. And to all who WILL NOT sign a card. Come march when we get our "offer" from ats, don't you think they will give you a better offer knowing the union has enough cards for a vote? Think about that before you say hellz no.

Now of course there are anti union bullies, and pro union bullies, I'm in the middle probably like many techs out here. The thought of ats and its plans have me scared for me, my family, and the families of all my fellow technicians as well. But unions have been on the decline, helping "lazy" techs, union dues, etc.

I have been a "strong contributor" for the past 4 years, and am not lazy. If someone on here complains about grammar, or misspelled words, you're on here for the wrong reasons. This website is supposed to be informational, and management trolls are ruining it and everyone knows it...so it's kind of a turnoff from the company for me at least. What would they tell you if they were retired or didn't work for the company, would it be the same b.s? I don't know. They do have the younger guys wrapped around their fingers.

I know this is a run on post, but I get the feeling a lot of techs feel the same way. I plan to attend a meeting to get educated and go from there, and I encourage everyone else to do the same. Now to the yorks of the world, what good does it do you telling management who was at meetings, you feel like they will treat you different?, better? Just know you are slowly blacklisting yourself from your entire shop. Everyone knows who the rats are, just know that.

Hey "batman", first of all you don't speak for a lot of the seasoned techs. And after four whole years you are hardly seasoned MB.

I agree whole heartedly I wish you and your fellow workers the best. Remember no voice no choice only a union gives you that a signed contract leave at your terms not theirs.
