Most of IT will be outsourced to IBM and popular consensus is that the majority will not make it past the 4 months and those who become IBM'ers will live a dreadful existence and encouraged to move. So what do you do? These next 3+ months spend your time studying while AECOM/IBM are paying you. Start applying for jobs ASAP and prepare for your interviews on the company dime. The retention bonus's are pitiful, but get what you can on your way out the door. You are a pawn in this game and it's time to move on. BTW, once an IT shop hits 1000 employees it's inevitable that it will be outsourced.

I escaped AECOM just before the URS merger thanks be to God. The company's problems are at the very top of the organization, including its incompetent Board of Directors. Think of it this way - benefits are down, salaries are poor, and yet look at Burke's compensation - all sorts of public sources. He received some $18M in bonus for purchasing URS. How many jobs could have been preserved if instead he took $1M in bonus (holding aside the fact that - isn't that why he's highly compensated in the first place - wasn't that just doing his job?). It's a vile organization. Whether you're in IT and being outsourced or you're in any other department - leave as soon as possible if for no other reason that to save your mental health.
