Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Say you are "unionized" and the contract runs out. The union calls for a strike... what's next?

This is only for your information. Make an educated decision and then decide. Not just for "the now", but for the future.

Work overtime and save, save, save.

Pay down credit cards. During a strike, your cash is usually limited. You don’t want to have to make monthly payments, plus debt with what little cash you have. Also, if you run out of cash, you may have to live on your credit cards.

Stock up on non-perishables.

Make sure your vehicles are in good shape, maintenance done, oil changed, etc.

Get your doctor’s appointments out of the way. If you strike, your employer may opt to discontinue paying its portion of your health care.

Stock up on medicines (prescriptions, first aid, etc.) and other supplies

Notify creditors that you may be one strike and, if possible rearrange payments.

Know the facts...

Who decides if we strike....WE DO...!

Why would we strike.... If ALTICE try's to continue to take from us....!

It sounds like your are preparing for the end of the world....or your truly misinformed....or your a manager or Drahi himself....

We've done it your way and you made changes that are taking $6,000 a yr at least out of my pocket and my PENSION!!! How am I supposed to survive?!!! How am I going to pay my bills and my heath care?? you want to scare me with strike talks.....Im scared to death thinking if you continue to take from me how will I support my family and buy groceries....You do hear IBEW members saying any of this...750,000 members for over 100yrs.....none of them are scared the way I am...

There will be no need for a strike.....!
