Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

More anti union drivel

"Some argue that unions devalue a worker’s merit. The idea is that, at a union company, no matter how skilled a worker is, he may only progress at the same rate as all union members progress; in other words, rate of progression is scripted by the union. You may deserve a raise or promotion, but you won’t get one until “it’s time.”

I'm not seeing where these corporations are wanting to give ANYBODY a raise. I'm seeing where they are looking to take away pay/benefits that you already have! Who agrees with me?

Good luck negotiating the annual salary increase you've gotten forever. Or performance bonus we've gotten. When you're union you can sign a cds that "guarantees a 3% pay increase over 3 years". Not including the years of no pay increases just to get that cba. S---ers bet. The house 'union' always wins.
