Thread regarding Kmart layoffs

offered 8 weeks severence pay

some were there longer than me, don't know what they got.

George Bailey(It's A Wonderful Life) said "I know what I'm gonna do tomorrow and the next day and the next year and the year after that. I'm shaking the dust of this crummy little town off my feet and I'm gonna see the world." That's what I have to say about Kmart.

Yup I know someone laid off after 30+ years, seems wrong to me.

That's what it is, they want to have only part timers so they can pay them minimum wage. Some of the people they let go, they asked to to apply working part-time at minimum wage, which is a slap in the face to those who served years and years with Kmart.

It's as if eliminating people who worked the longest and made over min wage gething chopped

I was let go after 31 years, they think part timers can run the show! No loyalty, to those who cared about their jobs , the big shots are running Kmart into the ground

I was also offered 8 weeks severance pay. I really love the quote you used. Sums it up perfectly.
