Company has gotten better over the years....you do realize we are not Cablevision anymore right..?

We are part of a worldwide conglomerate that took away soo much from us in just the first 6-8 months of ownership

The guy who doesn't know the difference between you're and your just called me stupid. That's funny. I think the company has gotten better over the years. It's not perfect but where else can a person with no college education make the money we make? I've seen plenty of people leave over the years. Some have done way better some have done worse but very few of them went to union jobs. I know you guys are pro union I respect that. If given the opportunity I may vote yes to one. When I first started we were Ibew. It was a decent union but for those of us who put our heads down and did our work it didn't have many benefits. I saw techs get caught doing some pretty bad things and those were the guys who reaped most of the rewards. I have friends who work some pretty tough jobs that without the benefit of a union would get screwed over on a daily basis. I'm not sure that we are in the same situation. Good luck to all of you/us. I mean that. I'd just have a lot easier of a time getting behind this if there was some sort of unity. Just not seeing it .

Ask yourself this, you have been with the company 20 years, have things gotten better or worse over those 20 years? Where are people going when they leave this company? Do those companies have unions? Not so stupid is it?

Who are you kidding? Your shop will bow out too. Fact is the only people who want this union are older techs who just can't cut it anymore. You can call people cowards or say they drank the koolaid but I they the people have spoken. Time to move on. I've been here 20 years and I've been hearing the same sh--. Dolan/Drahi makes no difference to me.

ATS plain and simple is a scam .. If this plan was really an honest venture all of the info we are asking for would have been put out in front of these meetings !!! But techs arent seeing the long term all they are seeing is oh I will be safe for 5 years ??? 5 years will fly bye and then all that will happen is that we all gone in favor of low cost labor !! Remember in the owners own words " I don't need Top Guys I just need Guys that are good enough "!!!

We were told in the beginning of our "scare" meeting with management that more time will be taken away next year with PTO being introduced next year.People we will lose more, this is not a lie or a scare tactic to go union it is simply the truth.

Why would a company this large, this efficient not have answers about ATS.

We had no problem with the cwa in our campaign here in rockland, the problem was not enough support with our techs. Some of them signed cards and said they were voting yes but werent willing to stand in solidarity with us and didnt want to show up to meetings. Some of them we know flipped and caved in under management's scare tactics and we knew we would be heading for a loss at this time. Some of these senior guys drank the kool aid thinking they will still be here in 5 years and some of these young techs havnt gotten enough taken away from them yet fir them to take a stand. Lets see if they wise up after 6 months...

I heard that nayak pulled because of issues w cwa, they may be switching to IBEW.... Smart move, I want to vote on every contract and not the union telling me it is what it is.... Don't believe what osh kosh says.

And btw, did anyone else laugh when the email came out and they said and I quote, "I and the rest of the management team remain committed to keeping you informed and updated on our progress."

Is this guy for real, the reason unions are coming in is because you ARENT being transparent. Every tech doesn't know what's coming down the pipeline and frankly I'm sick of it, and so is the majority, except most are too scared to voice it.... FACT.

Go to the meetings, get informed.

Dont do like the techs in rockland and other shops did...go public..support each other..stand up to management..if they sign a card they gotta wear a band and show solidarity...if the majority does that...the company and management will crap themselves..and you will win.
