Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Seriously,is there any growth potential within STT?

I have been there five years I make 42000k (don't laugh) I do a terrific job and I am being overlooked. Is it just the lack of growth or is it me?

Anyone with insight and no facetious attitude I'm looking for real advice. I am looking elsewhere with no luck so far, I'm actually concerned having been at STT so long is viewed as a negative and other companies will pass me by, no pun intended but has my ship sailed having been there so long?

Thanks for the input I'll keep plugging away hoping for an interview.

Kind of scary my time, effort and education seems to have been wasted for/on STT.

I would never have taken a job here if I knew I'd be hard pressed to find a new job because STT is not a business leader any longer.

Would be best to just keep up the search. Long term, the clipper ship is not a good place to build a career and the various other employers in the field have been looking down on SS experience for a while as they don't build much of a skill set that works outside that particular environment.

I guess our CEO locally raised, local area college kind of lost his way.

That kind of money breeds entitlement and loss of values.

I have hopes that someone that has the nerve (with a pension) at STT will send a newspaper clip to our new president and maybe we'll get some respite.

Certainly nothing in the way of help from our RINO governor or extreme liberal Senators.

I hope we all achieve success and prosperity in 2017, me thinks it will happen when we all just up and leave CEO holding the bag....remember...,

Hey hey ho ho J. h. Has got to go

Thanks, do you mean they force ppl to quit by keeping salaries so low?

Shane they are shameless.

I'll keep sending out my resume and hope to find a new job.

Word to the even younger than me , stay away don't get s---ed into this negative vortex, it's very difficult to get away.

If I had only known them what I know now.

Sorry there has not been any growth potential at SST in the last 14 years

Its been nothing but outsourcing jobs and getting rid of people

Another issue is a lot of the the skills you learn at SST are not used by other companies.

They are SST skills only and this will cause a problem when job hunting.

I would advise anyone 50++ to try and hang in there , as most companies no longer value

the worth ethics and maturity of older workers.

I have been there a lot longer than that and havent broken the 50k barrier. Ss is not interested in paying the help that does well... your ship has sailed. Mone has sailed and i am jumping with a life preserver.
