FP have been sold a pup. Dell dressed up the figures to make it look like Quest could stand on it's own two feet without the aircover from Dell. All lies. Fortunately, the Dell sales team were unable to grasp how to sell TOAD so it'll be able to survive, but I hear that the DP products were almost solely led by Dell. That business will struggle outside of Dell.
this is right on the mark.... it may end up being a nice story, but it is a couple quarters down the road before this business is running correctly.
Did you really think that Swainson et al would tie a nice bow on Dell Software Group and have it ready to spin off into a new company? He couldn't manage a game of solitaire so Francisco Partners were told a great story. Unfortunately, the reality was far different than what they were told and the new Quest will suffer for quite some time trying to fix the mess that he made.
