Personal Information -> About Me -> Click Grade link -> Goto tab "Pay" -> Goto tab "Workers' Compensation Code"
Grade 5 has this -- "8810 - Clerical Office Employees (United states of America)"
And here I naively thought, I was a Developer for 4 years now.
Don't know what the Code will be for grades, Can others share their code here?
For the record (I only know because I had a conversation over lunch today about the new PAN tool they use)... the tool isn't an Intel tool, it's a tool used by Intel so it is what it is (and apparently the person doing the admin training said that exact term over and over "It is what it is"). Was also told someone on MCM thought it was a good idea to bring it in-house to use and get rid of using Geni (old PAN tool), Oddly s/he has something to do with the tool which raised some eyebrows. Can anyone say Conflict of Interest?
So, I wouldn't worry too much about what it calls you, as long as your salary, bonuses, and orgs are all correct. But, it is pretty funny. lol

I am out of Intel now but heard about the new Workday coming. It is a company Intel has invested in, and their CEO is on Intel's BOD, so I'm not surprised they moved to that tool. It is possible the off-the-shelf categories just don't fit Intel so they are improvising. And if you think that is harmless, think again: When Intel had to pay out the settlement to workers in 2015 for the AntiTrust Hiring lawsuit, the payments were determined by whether you were classified as 'technical' or 'non technical' in the HR system of record during the time of the alleged antitrust practice. Not sure how they made that determination back then, but apparently some groups classified their web developers (as one example) as technical while others classified them as non-technical. So, years after the alleged offense, some web developers I know got a nice settlement while their colleagues doing the same work or very similar did not. A rose by any other name does matter.
I'm sorry ,but this is just too funny. It's a total dilbert moment.
And I'm laughing because there's always some Intel cheerleader here that talks about burgers burning...And here we have Intel designating s/w guys really no better than that.

Get out.... Software engineers in a hardware company is always a losing proposition. Plus the pay s---s.
I am in grade 5, Its the same for me, I know some directors who actually changed designation of people hired as an "XYZ" changed to something absolutely irrelevant without even asking the people involved. How far will Intel go to do unethical things?
