I don't get it people constantly crying about the sick day and holiday that got removed and the BENIFITS that went up 7% but yet don't want to take a stand??? How do you see a company taking away things from you and think they have your best interest? DONT CRY IF YOU SUPPORT THERE MOVEMENT!!!

Did Brooklyn keep their holiday and sick time when ours got cut back?

Brooklyn really didn't get anything.....same as employees not union, they are at 96% pay and still face a possibility of layoffs ( if the business needs to take that route) what did the Brooklyn techs give up to get what they already had?
Honestly from a lot of guys I spoke to. The answers I get are ill just get another job. Or if it gets worse well just threaten them with Union next year. I think people also see the work involved with unionizing and just don't have the faith needed in each other to pull it off. Or the dedication. They look at Brooklyn and talk about how long it took to get a contract and how little to no difference it made. There are many factors that contribute to the constant Union failure and believe it or not it has very little to do with managements union busting it's actually just that techs don't have faith in it. Most just don't believe in each other or that Union offers enough incentive for the effort much less paying union dues on top of that. In a time when everything is expensive and nothing is certain fear takes root easily. It's a very different time not enough to go around and not enough trust in anyone but ourselves.
As far as I can tell its fear. Jobs are hard to Come by. Unemployment on the rise. People don't want to lose what they have don't want to risk losing it for a gamble on something more. But of course that doesn't stop them from complaining. It's the sign of the times. They will make all the excuses under the sun. but when you making 30 plus dollars an hour in an industry not easy to get into, and you came from jobs that paid much less, and you know your prospects of getting that kind of money again are slim to none. it's hard for these guys to grow a backbone and fight for retention of what they earned. Crying about it is much easier.
