And do not do any buisness calls etc. bet they all video techs ... Give them buisness work. They will be b--ching screeming clowns.
Good number or bad numbers, we're all be gone in about 5 years max, maybe sooner. Once their done with the fiber rebuild. Their's no need for OSP or Construction. The rest they can sub contract out. A fiber plant doesn't need maintanace. In a storm things go down and sub contractors can do it. So when the bulk of the installs are done then we're gone as well. Calls being answered by overseas call centers and work sub contracted out while they rake in the dough.
Keep thinking that it was voluntary and when your out of a job ask them why your being made to voluntarily leave . Guys who were in cable for 30 years since high school that were only in their 50's didn't want to leave but they were so too heavy on salary they had no choice. Especially when the owners come to your depot and verbally tell you that we are getting paid to much. Keep believing what you want .
I love the person here who thinks he educated as he is so informed about Altice which is the company that slashed many jobs in their own home in which their employees were told the same nonsense that we're being told now and still got "laid off". I rather go down fighting then end up like Connecticut which went down without so much as a whisper. If they think employees have nothing to gain from a union then why fight it? They tell us the employee can bring their issues to upper management but I don't see anything being done about it. Unfortunately with their track record back in France why should I trust them? They haven't given me any reason to.
What do you mean 70 year guys pushed out????? They were given the option to leave with 3 weeks per year severance. I wish I qualified. It's voluntary. Most guys I know are taking the money and already have jobs lined up elsewhere. You know what the average cable guy in this country gets at that age. Nothing. These guys got a gift. I pray when I retire they offer packages again....

I'm waiting for the educated poster on here that was pro Union who does not even know he has to use punctuations. His paragraph posts are one long 200 word run on sentence. I'm not the guy who usually corrects people's spelling or english, but that's really bad! That guy pretty much sums up who was in your "movement". I think they teach how to write a sentence in 1st grade. That guy is your spokesman. Sad. Really sad!
It's funny how you think of union supporters as bottom feeders / lazy and garbage techs. It's also funny how you think the reason we are pushing for the union. Is so we won't have to work and just sit back and get raises. Your dead wrong brother it's the big picture that your not seeing . There was many good techs already let go that worked 125 percent per day. That were forced out because of the 70 rule. We are so divided for some reason and because of that we will never stand as one .

The educated group of techs who do their jobs the right way and have great numbers didn't want to be lumped into a group with you garbage bottom feeder techs. The techs that were screaming Union are the ones at the bottom. And when they spoke it was so obvious they were scared they would have to finally do their job. So their last gasp was Union.
