Inovalon is starting to outsource more jobs. I question whether there are legal issues with using out-of-country contractors or vendors that will have access to medical PHI (protected health information). If there is a security breach in one of these countries will there be legal recourse for those whose information was compromised? Will Inovalon even be responsible? I guess I should start training for a different career...I expect my position will be outsourced/restructured/eliminated within the next year or two...

One of the remaining Inovalon offices was recently seen training a large group of people from India. On May 10th, the company laid off not only remote review positions but also Leads and Preceptors. They are either outsourcing or shutting down!
Does someone have more info on this - we should pressure all the companies that want to send jobs overseas into reconsidering
