Any guesses/speculation when are the layoffs going to start this year? Last year it was end of April, I hope this year it would be much earlier. I'm planning to leave the company soon and just wondering if I could get a nice package to go.

No more 'nice packages' but should be something (i'm guessing). Normally you get X weeks for every year of service or something like that. Just don't think it's going to be as nice as 2016 ACT. I've be VERY surprised if it was.
No layoffs, just fired for being bottom of stack.
Last 2 years, the hammer dropped in April, so same timing this year.
In April, my two cents
If only this was true, @ucg
Last few good pkgs were given out last year. 2017 ACT2 victims should consider themselves lucky if they get 1 or 2 months pay.

Sorry, but all I've heard from people is the nice packages are a thing of the past. Things could always change though... but I certainly wouldn't count on it happening anytime soon. If it does.. SCORE!
Glad you are preparing. Makes a lot of sense.
If you have not been informed by your manager by now, you are safe from layoffs for the rest of this year.
Too late. There will be no packages any more. Intel will skyrocket this year.
First, let's waste time doing focal of people that are no longer going to be at Intel, before reducing our numbers.

No layoffs! Lots of hiring this year due to Intel's superb performance.
