Samsung S8 will be on desktop - Wow

The slide clearly shows a wired, connected solution, with the phone tethered to the monitor directly. Now, we've been able to connect smartphones directly to monitors in the past (e.g. here), but this is the first time that I've seen a non-Windows smartphone expand what's shown in the way depicted above, with a full desktop experience, multi-windowing, and so on.

It doesn't matter who the end manufacturer is (Samsung or Mot/Google or ?). What matters is that Windows is no longer a duopoly. It is only a matter of time before all non-servers will be running on ARM.

Intel has tried these kind of solution , but the power dissipation is major problem to achieve the desired form factor with specific battery dimensions. With core processor it's possible to develop these kind of lab prototype for demos ,but developing a product is ruled out.

You might want to catch up on the latest from Intel Corporation - you are probably a manager:

Intel has made the decision to discontinue marketing and development of Intel® WiDi and Intel® Pro WiDi applications and related receiver certification program effective immediately.

This is what I am waiting for. Everything on my mobile device. No laptop to carry, no desktop to leave behind with all my work. True mobility is the phone of everything.
