So a while back Staples decided to roll Dotcom into North American retail for reporting purposes. At the time Dotcom was the "apparent" growth side and the expected savior of the company. You all remember the sudden demands made at store level to produce dotcom sales daily and report daily on how well you did. sigh so ignorant!
The reason they lumped the two disparate businesses together was because they thought the Dotcom growth would "HIDE" the lower growth in Brick and Mortar.
WELL surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dotcom S---S too! Now this is the important part my friends; All the business segments S--- because those managing the business going way back to at least 2005 S---!
Foolish children way over their heads, patting themselves on the back about how great they were they stopped planning for the future and then, when it became obvious they had no clue the basically stole the company blind parachuted out and disguised what has been going on with accounting tricks. I will dance on Staples grave. (I never sold SPLS for less than $17 a share and have owned none for 6 years).
