what team or position are you on/in?
Are they hiring? Seriously I hear certain groups have it better and clearly I'm in the have not team.
So what's an employee to do any area I should be trying for?

As I stated, I am a former employee of State Street whose only regret is that I worked for State Street for as long as I did. I don't believe that you are safe in any area of State Street. Since they are supposed to layoff 7,000 employees by 2020 this massive layoff should effect many areas of the bank.
Not sure how they will fill these positions? If they are offering these positions to the younger worker who is just starting out in their career, good for them ! I would guess that most of these positions will be sent to India or one of their global sites which will save State Street a ton of money while leaving all who are laid off without any real job opportunities and especially the older worker. Many will have to settle for another position where they are earning a substantial amount less while trying to support their family on this significantly reduced salary.
All who are reading these threads you need to leave State Street ASAP. I made the mistake of working for State Street for many years and was a very dedicated worker and still got laid off like everyone does after a while.
