Get ready for wave 2 of TCS takeover of IT

TCS wave 2 takeover is beginning now. MC is having meetings with various IT teams to inform them that the takeover is happening soon, and to be completed by the end of May.

Soon there will not be anyone working in IT that lives in North America. Way to boost that local economy! What a joke this company has become. I cant wait until TCS screws up something so bad and theres noone around that actually knows the systems to fix it.

Any good ERP all depends on configuration and implementation. Example: Spectra's 2012 installation still has a carp report tool BO/BI they have moved to HUNA but it only means you get carp data, next day 2 hours earlier.

The payroll module screwed up our 401s from 1/2012 to 10/2012. This was from the CEO to the Admin level. Someone dumped all the files to EXCEL or some other tool to figure it out, they were not from IT by the way.

Most of the users use delivered SAP reports, dump it to EXCEL use V-LOOKS to massage or other means.

As far as Enbridge goes discussing the pros and cons of SAP according to strong rumor is moot. Word on the street is the new Enbridge will be moving to Oracle combining all entities by 2019.

ARE THEY REALLY MOVING THIS TO INDIA - no one in Spectra IT believes this rumor.

Thank heavens SAP has a few delivered reports that work well

You have it backwards about SAP. SAP proves itself better every time...history verifies this. Soon you will witness the whole accounting/reporting/tax structure stumble as it goes back to spreadsheets fighting cloud integration absent any standard and hobble whatever an SI/SaaS can provide cheap. The parties recommending these solutions have no accountability. Its best to follow similar mergers and judge real results rather than rely on strategy consultants recommended best practices. Management is a fight between rationalist and Humanist and currently the rationalist movement is in full effect which is an assault on capital for the short-win and always backfires... I'll summarize for you the motivators and you judge the current state as it applies to what Enbridge tells stock holders is the focus: first it’s efficiency, then quality, next it’s customer satisfaction, then supplier satisfaction, then self-satisfaction, and finally, at some point, it’s efficiency all over again. Then, when this loop comes full cycle a spin-off occurs and it starts all over again as the profits are extracted and focus cycles back up the executive chain... see; a company is valuable and innovative when a Humanist structure and practices dominate... you'll have to wait until a spin-off before Enbridge is profitable again.

Yes the LINK SYSTEM ( home built ) is the best and it is critical. That and the GAS CONTROL is it.

The Financial IT piece is carp 3 instances of SAP that are all configured differently, a reporting system BO/BI that can't bring the data together after 5 years trying. The third to forth UPGRADE of HFM works well.

Basically keep LINK and Gas Control - try and get Enbridge to upgrade their HFM and scrape the rest.

This has nothing to do with Spectra and what they have for IT. This is outsourcing to India. They are taking over ALL IT, before and after Spectra. If you work for Enbridge, or you work for Spectra, it doesn't matter. Unless you work for TCS in India, you are out of a job within 3 months.

Infrastructure (windows, database, UNIX), productivity services, IAM, ITOC, SOC.

SE has a really good IT department and the LINK System is best in the industry for pipelines.

I don't see how 500-600 Albertans and Texans losing their jobs to India is a blessing. Its just another reason why Enbridge has turned from one of the best to one of the worst. Absolute morons at the executive level of IT and higher. Filling their pockets while ruining the lives of countless others. But hey, good job CD and MC!

It may be a blessing for new Enbridge: if it involves any of the Spectra crew being integrated in there is no Malware out there that could protect your somewhat Functional systems. They do have a good fix ticket system ( the third one in as many years ) to keep track of what doesn't work.

Good luck
