Thread regarding Zenith Education Group layoffs

Thank you for changing my life.

I want to thank the person at CCi who laid me off. I want to thank you for not recognizing and acknowledging my talent, skill set and drive. I want to thank you for trying to tear me down while I was there because you only made me stronger. I want to thank you for giving me a shot at a real career where I have accelerated to exactly where I should have landed because of my work ethic, knowledge and strengths. I want to thank you for making CCi just a stepping stone in moving forward, even if I didn't know it at that time.

My talents, intelligence, integrity and morals are recognized and appreciated. They are rewarded, not looked down upon because I have a heart and was brought up knowing what is right and what is wrong. I took your management style and did the opposite.

It is quite interesting to see how the replies to this post took such a left turn. Says a lot about people's state of mind.

Seems inconceivable that online survives. Have you seen outcome data????

To 6yok,

I understand that part of the loans can go to housing or food? Is that correct?

They have 18 months from December to find new accreditation or they lose title IV funds. They also have to list it on their websites and tell any prospective student about ACICS. It definitely hurts enrollment at those campuses. There have been a lot of smaller schools decide to teach out and close instead of seeking another accrediting body because of the new and tougher requirements. Expect to see a few more Everest campuses closing and very possibly online shutting down.

That's a big deal if ACCSC won't accept. How long before campuses have to close?

Htq - Yes , it is a welfare program - for ECMC execs. No one else receives any benefit.....

This is just one big scam to push and collect debt money to avoid the Feds having to pay the debts. Everyone knows Everest is of no value. The degrees have no value. Its a BIG waste of taxpayer money, so therefore it is really just another welfare program.

I was told that ACCSC already approved the schools coming over. Is that not true?

They're not closing. A few more campuses will close, but not the entire company. Zenith is pushing too much debt collection to ECMC to close. The only thing that could change that is the situation with ACICS and trying to get another accrediting body to take on the mess with a lot of the Everest schools. More than half of the remaining schools including online are accredited by ACICS and ACCSC is pushing back hard against these schools. The WyoTechs and a few of the Everest schools have been under ACCSC so they are safe.

All of this is still just a bunch of whining. When is this joke called Zenith going to come to closure?

-4nak: Agree with all your assessments esp. PT, KT and AT.

I can't use names so I'll abbreviate. The leadership void is at the top. I can't take PT seriously when all his examples are from Wall Street or University of California. He lives in LA for g sakes. MO thinks she is still at a Community College. Still haven't heard or seen one thing KT has accomplished. I'm serious. Not one thing. KB, need I say more. Online is a freaking mess. AT is most wishy-washy compliance person I've ever seen and I've worked for 4 schools over my career. JC=OMG. Most impressive is JA. I'd have him run it all.

It's all the managers know because they are bottom barrel managers. They have not a clue how to manage. They can barely manage their makeup on in the morning or manage to find themselves. Don't take this management style personal that's why there is nothing left. The best are gone and it gives the lost souls a place to hide with faith from a rich ruler that takes more and more and never shares.

Yes, it is just a business. However, if you want the numbers to display favorable results, you DON'T manage in the manner described by the OP. Like it or not, we are a people centric business. While accountability is important, long term positive business results are rarely achieved by a workforce managed by fear, intimidation and marginalization. Good employees have choices and will leave. What remains (sorry in advance for the broad generalization) are a small number of hard working blind loyalists and a large number of C/D level players with few choices.
