Thread regarding Marathon Oil Corp. layoffs

What could have been?

Lee buddy, does it bother you a bit that Darren Woods got the job you always wanted. Darren is out rubbing elbows with world powers and being quoted be every business journal while you sit around the galleria arguing about petty things like the benefits of refracing or the hedging options to cover debt payments. Perhaps you didn't really have what it took to get there, perhaps it was for the best. Well, you may get a couple of more years out of the MRO gig but then what?

Lee was not Marathon’s first choice to replace Clarence Cazalot. Imagine what might have been if the #1 choice had actually accepted Marathon’s offer?! I’ll bet he would have been a better navigator of the Marathon ship. We wouldn’t have had to endure folks like Blue Jeans and her human(?) guard dog! Also, some of the other unpopular and/or harmful shifts in management players may not have occurred.

Dreaming of “what might have been” is hazardous to one’s health. It’s almost as bad as working in Marathon’s current toxic environment!

I wonder if we could find Lee a position in DC with Trumps organizations? Could we start a letter writing campaign to draft Lee as a DC idea man taking SI7 with him to get Washington in line?

Please Lee, go save America, go save the world! Key word is GO. How can we ever miss you if you don't leave?

Wow, let's hope his raise and bonus reflect the loss. Should be zero.

MRO beat consensus revenue & earnings (less loss than anticipated) and oil was up, but MRO tanked. Lee has no respect on Wall Street.

Lee wasn't even close to being CEO at XOM. He was at least two tiers down from being considered. That's why becoming CEO of Marathon was such a bolt from the blue for him.
