Thread regarding Zenith Education Group layoffs

Same Soap Opera

In reading the Zenith posts and the CCi posts from prior, it all seems like the same soap opera just different actors. I truly feel bad for those who have small bit parts trying to make a difference, be positive and pay their bills in what appears to be an environment of such low morale according to this board.

I, too, have been blessed to be able to transition to a traditional 4 yr. State College. What a refreshing difference. Imagine PD's and Deans that support and appreciate you and student's that are motivated in a positive learning environment.

Contemplate the joy of doing your job without micromanage and the freedom to construct your class to meet the students needs. Also, there is the pay, look for yourself on line, it's public knowledge, what a Professor in a State College makes per credit hour.

I was on board when Zenith took over from Cci. There was great optimism and hope that things would improve but, alas, that optimism was quickly dashed when there was no name change, no local leadership change and an increase in trivial control nonsense with no clear purpose or goal.

When I left, there were some terrific instructors that I wish I could have taken with me. It is sad to hear that things are worse and that the quality of the instructors has been on a decline and forget about the poor "leadership"!

God bless you all and those that can, please seek out better options.

I am now teaching at a real college. it is very different and can actually flunk those that do not do the work without worrying if I will get courses to teach the next session. For me it was the way the AD's treated the instructors. They were the bad ones, I suppose many were following marching orders, but I suspect many were just bleeding heart liberals that actually believed that students should pass through even when they didn't do the work. They saw it as their mission to weed the school of instructors that tried to actually teach and hold accountable the students and place their friends in classes that they knew would pass everyone. I know the one I had in the Business area was very much into the crony system and self serving. Not a good AD at all.

I finally made it to a traditional 4 year college. It has almost nothing in common with CCI or Zenith. I feel respected and proud of what I do. I'm not embarrassed to say where I work. I really encourage you to get out of Zenith. I saw almost no difference between the old cci and Zenith although I really liked Dave H. He came to my campus early on and I felt like he was sincere in his desire to change our culture and do right by students. Obviously he either gave up or was forced out. In any case I'm happier than I've been in years. You can be too.
