Thread regarding Kellogg Co. layoffs

Question about positions left

I am aware that everyone here is angry at the news of the layoffs, as am I, but they are saying there will be positions in sales remaining. Does anyone have any solid numbers as to how many, and how they are going to be staffed? What are the criteria that they will be using to route employees to these positions?

My husband had 12 years, territory manager of the year 3 years in a row, no disciplinary actions, top salesman in his zone month after month and a binder full of commendation letters. His DM cried when she gave him the news and told him he is her best rep. All the higher ups were shocked he didn't get chosen. But guess what, a guy with 3 years with Kellogg's who has terrible performance, his stores look like crap, HR record, GETS A JOB!

Did I mention my husband is a plaintiff in the class action overtime lawsuit?

Did I mention my husband trained this guy who retained a position?

Did I mention my husband is 52 and this guy is early thirties?

Hmmmmmmm.

Top two criteria: one your performance reviews and geography.

You can almost assume you're not going to have a job. 2/3 of the snack division will be gone. Your manager had no input whatsoever if you got to keep your job or not. It is based on last year's grading performance and where you live if you're lucky to get a job

If you're hearing from Kellogg upper management... would you really trust what they say at this point?

I'm sure they will need some staff on hand but it's uncertain if it will be any current employees. Theory is that it's cheaper to higher part timers than to pay those full time and with tenure. May not be the case however, Kellogg has a history for cutting cost at any price, they are not thinking of anyone but their bottom line. Remember the cereal reps? Kellogg started over with the cereal side a few years ago.
