Thread regarding Kellogg Co. layoffs

Downplaying the Grand Totals of layoffs across the Country.

The media really needs to address the inaccurate layoff number Kelloggs has announced. Eleven-hundred (1,100) jobs is just the tip of the ice burg. They failed to mention the amount of employees that will no longer be employed by the end of July. Not just affecting a few states, but all the states. K-Values, what did that really mean? I know I work extended hours, have always taken great pride in how I represented Kelloggs, and have gone above and beyond, because at the end of the day it is my name they store managers remember. Good luck everyone with your new job search!!!

he's right, the 1,100 is just the full-time warehouse people. When you add up all the people getting laid off, and ALL is the key word, it's probably over 7,000. We're talking all the sales reps, managers, merchandisers, and drivers, full and part-time. nationwide. They talk about keeping some reps on as warehouse reps, like they have for cereal, but they only have one rep per large area.

Used to work for these jokers. Guaranteed, they have your back knifed. Seen tons of my fellow workers just breaking their back to keep up and do a good job. But no one spoke up at open meetings. I'd have rammed them sideways. You are looking at an underhanded and totally greedy move. This will blow up in their ugly faces. I'm betting it doesn't happen 'til atleast November. Remember, this is the same company that flew the cereal reps to Chicago for a dinner and to tell them they were done only to s--- up their mistake and rehire them. No upper crust moron can make a decision along with instructions. I don't EVER go to Walfarts and I won't EVER buy a Kellogg's product. I feel for the hard working people getting jacked around. The Elf has died!

As an employee I can confirm layoffs START in April and end in October.

They are going to direct delivery from a Kellogg's hub to the Grocery warehouse chains. They are looking to close out the year end numbers high. They believe by dumping all Managers, Sales Reps, RDR's, Merchandiser's and Drivers it's economically more cost effective. The writing was on the wall when Kellogg's bought Keebler. I guess we should have paid closer attention, but we trusted them.
