Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Recent Ats meetings

In regards to Ats meetings this past week. How can you join this new entity? The presentation was a joke no real answers were given and how can you believe a man that told employees in Shelton that everything is fine and their jobs were secure, then you know what happened. If you did join Ats please give a reason ,fear, peer pressure what don't get it ?

o where do the stacks of cash go? As far as Capital’s team of reporters can tell, it isn’t spent on network improvements, job retention, or customer service. Instead, a handful of top executives are quietly helping themselves to expensive Swiss real estate.

Following the money has not been easy. Drahi and his associates do not want customers to know where their money is being spent. Capital reporters were forced off one property after asking a developer about the buyer of two of seven chalet cottages nestled in the hills with a breathtaking view of the Matterhorn, Switzerland’s most famous mountain peak. That view came with a $45 million price tag. Drahi told Capital he knew nothing about the project, but newly-revealed documents from municipal authorities obtained by Capital reporters found Drahi-owned subsidiary NDZ was the buyer, and nobody expects the tony digs will house customer service agents.

But that isn’t enough for “Monsieur Altice.” In Cologny, a chic suburb of Geneva, Drahi’s 3,000 meter property surrounded by high fences and expensive security set him back around $19 million. He already owned a 2,400 meter property on the same street, acquired in 2000 for the modest sum of $7.4 million (he put the house in his wife’s name). Sixteen years later, it was time for an upgrade as a dozen construction trucks arrived to begin a major renovation.

I suggest that all employees read the actual agreement between Altice & NYS Public Service Commission.

link here-->

http://documents.dps.ny.gov/public/Common/ViewDoc.aspx?DocRefId={432349AA-B17A-4341-98FE-98C7F0BE1A97}

One very important fact that you should notice is that ATS has absolutely nothing to do with this. They can legally escape any order or condition within this agreement by having employees voluntarily separate themselves from Altice.

You should carefully consider the legal ramifications of joining ATS. Unless Altice renegotiates their agreement with the Public Service Commission and include ATS, you should stay put.

Ask yourself why management has never made any of you aware of this..... meanwhile still claiming to be fully transparent

I don't believe they are going to bring everyone over just to let them go, that makes it messy. If that were the case they would just pick people off now at Allt-USA. Its basically a means at shedding some employees. For those not offered a position at ATS its pretty clear its just a matter of time before they are let go which looks to be like its going to be supervisors next. In regards to your rights. You don't have many. Think of it as a government. This company is not a democracy, they can rewrite the rules any which way they want weather its Altice or ATS within American laws (which are heavily in favor of big corporations). Essentially they don't need ATS to get rid of techs especially since they said they were honoring the BPU agreement at ATS. If you made it to ATS I do believe you bought yourself more time.

Your right doesn't really matter we are at will, but I would assume as a technician employed in Altice USA with time in. I would have more rights, than a employee who just started with a new company. Am I correct in my assumption. They can sugarcoat everything but they can always come up to you after a week and say it's not working out. You wouldn't be able to do a thing can't go to the Nlrb Eeoc because it's a new entity probation period. If I am going to start a new job, I am going to start a new job not start my old new job doing the same bull.

It didn't matter if you chose to stay or leave, they both are in favor of Altice. How I interpreted it was if you stayed with Altice USA, they let you know they are phasing technical operations out so you will be let go sooner than later. If you go to ATS vice versa, you would be here to continue to carry out the tech work up until the build, where you are most likely less needed, so you would be gone later than sooner. So it was a matter of buying some time while still being employed. Remain hopeful but still prepare an exit strategy.

To thise in favor for a union .. do yourselves and begin looking elsewhere, because its going to get vicious after the first six months with ATS. You think they were being generous "re-instating" the employee cable benefits? No.. those are just "tactics" to swing undecisive individuals.. your the fish... the promises are the bait.. have fun being reeled in gentlemen. I wish all of you the best of luck!

So you're given an explanation for variable pay and you blow it off. Know why?? Because it rewards techs who work hard. Employees across multiple industries prefer this type of compensation option as it rewards those who deserve it. Barry didn't ruin anyone, people do it to themselves. If you ran a company you wouldn't employ those people either. Btw, I like how my comment was removed. To continue your questions I've been here 17 years. I know what's up. Why do you have to fill out employee verification, an I9, is because your taking a new employment, which according to federal law, you are required to fill out. The metrics will be out before I sign anything. No one is going contractor, so enough with the bullsh1t! I'm guessing these posts are by union reps because I really hope techs aren't this ignorant.

Something that you will never achieve too many variables and easily manipulated. Majority of techs will fail to get. Due to favoritism just like the metrics now, you never see your real numbers your supervisors tell you if your doing good it's a joke just like ats, let's be transparent set up a page so we can see everything. Osp has and can never be set up for metrics. Outages alones have huge variables from a Ac short to a blown fuse to a major return outage you have plants with only 2 in cascade to 10 in cascade how would you differentiate you can't that's why it's a sham. So please stop defending the indefensible

Variable pay is employee compensation that changes as compared to salary which is paid in equal proportions throughout the year. Variable pay is used generally to recognize and reward employee contribution toward company productivity, profitability, teamwork, safety, quality, or some other metric deemed important.

The employee who is awarded variable compensation has gone above and beyond his or her job description to contribute to organization success.

You know what in the scope of things this company is making tons of money. They are taking things that we had our bonuses our pension sick days. These things are not putting the company in the red So why take it away because they can and who's to stop them, and for what why make a worker happier about coming to work and saying this is a great job. So you are saying we don't deserve these things he tells us we are the best then keeps taking things away let a bully take your lunch money with no resistance he will be coming back for more until you confront him. Good luck with letting them dictate everything next we will be getting paid by the job. Oh look you are about to do that by joining Ats and in the bottom of your offer it says if selected look at that is that for you or them but if you said yes to Ats you voluntarily separated yourself from Altice USA. No going back keep trusting them

Stop complaining about the holiday bonus. That was a perk that was given by Cablevision. A LOT of companies don't offer any type of bonus incentives. Yes, it s---s to lose that extra cash, but get over it already.
