Is this true?? today all DEPOS will have a 9:30-6 work schedule? Is this legal? Can they just give you a few hours notice on a shift change?

Yes it is true 930 start times I just had my ETS meeting last week and were also informed that besides the 1099 form we also had to enlist in the foreign Legion. But I was relieved to hear that Paul region reserves so you'll only be called to active duty one weekend a month in. Seriously guys stop with all the stupid rumors so far I haven't heard anything on this website that turned out to be true , and there you go
I do standby my lazy old a** that's part of my job always done it sometimes I get help somethimes I don't but we have to do it weather doesn't matter. To your safety comment Exactly if they wanted us safe we wouldnt be doing standby by ourselves, so I can speak on it so you shut up.
I don't see anyone complaining that they sent everyone home at 1030.......
You are all too chicken sh1t to stand up for yourselves with a union. No point in evening mentioning unions anymore on this site. Hope everyone enjoys taking it up the behind no lube. Its a fascinating feeling. Especially for the retard who said "omg everyone b1tches about start times.. im so blessed to have a job" its going to feel nice for you.
So, based on that last comment, there is no safety in consideration for the on call and he should be the only one on the road? Shut up.
Safety what a joke, that's to get more people written up. if they wanted you safe they would of left you home, except the on call guys,
Big tech why does it have to be a Union guy. What is your issue we're lazy and your not. Give it a break are you a troll or a tech what makes you not lazy the fake metrics how many jobs you do per day 6,5,4 wow that's a lot sorry did more work than that. I am and will always be a good tech and mgmt still gave me the business never below and exceeds for umpteen years. Lazy so stop discriminating on people that want to improve there work place environment. Your one way of thinking is not good, you have to listen to all aspects then decide, but categorizing a group does not make you any better.
Get over it, it was for your safety
That was just for today....duh snow day. Stop panicking!
Well said, Big Tech. Well said.
Everyone really needs to stop already, all these union folks just continue to complain. If the company starts early they b--ch, if the company starts late you b--ch .. never happy. These are the same union pushers I bet that never work a minute past closing time. Blah blah blah. I'm blessed everyday I'm working.
The answer to this question was found at FINDLAW.com I hope this information helps. It reads as follows....
Abrupt scheduling changes at work may be irritating but they are legal. There is little you can do about it if your boss suddenly switches your shifts or asks you to adopt new hours. American employment is governed by the Fair Labor Standards Act. That act has no scheduling provisions, except in connection with child labor. The FLSA does not provide a minimum notice period for changes and your employer can change your schedule without talking to you about it.
According to the Department of Labor, "an employer may change an employee's work hours without giving prior notice or obtaining the employee's consent (unless otherwise subject to a prior agreement between the employer and employee or the employee's representative)."
Given the above, there is not too much you can do if your boss switches your shifts. You will have to make arrangements to show up at the new time or you may find yourself without the job.
What About Contract Workers?
When it comes to scheduling, contingent workers, or contractors, are meant to be free agents who employ themselves. Independent scheduling is supposed to be an essential element of contractor classification and it is one of the criteria that courts will look at to determine if a worker is a contractor or employee. Realistically, however, contractors often find themselves in the same bind as employees -- working when management desires -- without any of the legal protections available to an employee.
Whatever you do, keep in mind that the law is on the employer's side in this context. As a worker, you will have to find a way to make the change work or find new work.
So all Cablevision or Optimum whatever Altice is calling the northeast these days is now a 930-6 work day? Hmmm...goes along with a rumor they were wanting to change up and go to different shifts company wide....who really knows. I know alot of management is leaving regardless of Suddenlink or Cablevision ties. Seems like anything suddenlink has been disolved or changed over to cablevisions way of doing things. Seeing alot of small changes and no one saying hey this is what is happening or this is why, its just happening and the techs and csrs are left to just deal with it and hope its not a set up for failure....
Yep and they will keep doing it and what you have to ask is? What's to stop them, you gave them the ability to do whatever they want no voice no choice that's what we have a divided workforce they call the shots.
So every shop but Brooklyn has a 9:30 start
From the Department of Labor

Probably not !!! But they will continue to do what ever they want !!! They have already know that WE have no Balls to stand up to them !!!! So lay down and continue to take it ..
