Everybody got an invitation to a Town Hall with Walchirk tomorrow morning, followed by other town halls from BU leaders. My colleagues and I (finance) expect either a move to Texas or layoffs. Anybody have any information?

first of all, if you aren't a troll, you're an idiot. they'll fire you before you make retirement. most of the corporate layoffs are people over 50. why there hasn't been a class action ageism suit against this company is beyond me. maybe there will be one now.
secondly, if you're in SF, it's only a matter of time before they eliminate your job and move it to atlanta or texas. Get out while you can.
It's definitely happening at corporate (happened to me yesterday) - be prepared.
Massive layoffs (3000-4000 employees) are planned for both Alpharetta and SFO. I was in a restaurant in SFO sitting a table away from a VP and I overheard him say that SFO layoffs will be announced to Wall Street following Q3 earnings release and Alpharetta layoffs will be announced once the MTS spin-off goes live. Did anybody hear anything similar?
Any updates? SF office will be closed? A lot of rumors.
@LKffmy0-ofa: You're trolling. Go somewhere else.
Rich pricks!
I again will be glad to move there and have my own office. Retirement in 2 years!!!!
I hear the people are better looking in Texas than the Bay Area, that's something to look forward to in 2018.
Yes, yes, yes. If you read the past posts on here you would see where we tried to warn One Post about being relocated to good ol' Texas. Now let's see how this goes.
Town hall said massive layoffs in 2018 and a huge move to Texas. I will be getting a raise to move there and the homes are a quarter of the price. I'll retire in 2 years vs 10 years in the bay.
Well, what was the outcome of the town hall with Walchirk? What time was/is it scheduled?
Expect both. Massive layoff in several areas where folks had to reapply for their jobs. Of course, there were fewer jobs than people.
