Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Hey thanks for the c r a p p y training and terrible morale and

Lack of in depth ongoing educational training and growth

I love not being able to compete at other companies to try and get out of the h e l l hole which is state street

So nice I'll be relegated to serfdom by crushing my skills and talents with office politics and an inability to notice and develop real talent and intellect

Mental midgets unite at state street to rule once in power they bully

Not sure why you are blaming SSC. You are the one who stayed.

SSC does not owe anyone anything. You made a choice and it unfortunately was a bad one.

Stop crying and do something to better yourself.

I wish I had know then what I learned in five short years now it's amazing my top notch degree is squandered I almost feel like I should've just bought a franchise I feel like my parents wasted their money and I b UBS t e d my h um p for no reason it's disgraceful demoralizing and tragic because I know now that I am the norm at this company and only a select few reap the rewards I hope I make it out because on my pay o can't afford to stop and go for an advanced degree

I will repeat once again, I remember when I started at SST in 1980 it was the company everyone

wanted to work for. Good salary , benefits, inside company training programs, good raises.

Then in the late 1990's the new mgmt team of bean counters was brought it.

It wasn't bad at 1st ,raises got smaller as did bonuses, but training started to be scaled back.

By 2000 the outsourcing started out slowly then increasing year after year.

Entire departments were outsourced to other companies.

I remember a period when the average worker had to go 3 years without a raise.

And when they started giving raises it was 1% to 3% .

After 25 years my job was outsourced to a company in India. When I started applying for jobs saying I worked for SST no longer opened doors for me. It was now a death blow when companies

found out you worked for SST.

I had a lead on a job outside of state street...

Its was looking good..

Then the hiring manager at McDonald's saw I was coming from SS...

And the interview stopped...job given to someone from JPM

I wish I had never taken a job there too.

It's incredibly difficult to find a new job before the "7000 people axe" comes down.

They are so niche with their software they keep you stuck from leaving.
