I guess you can call it a "force of habit," I had a habit of speaking my mind when things didn't look right or were just DEAD WRONG. Some of the s--t that's happening is of no surprise. We use the same "logic" in our own homes and families. We cut down when finances say "no can do." We search for cheaper items because, hey, "it's cheaper." I made it a habit to visit contractor warehouses frequently. And the look on their faces is unforgettable. When a tech updated his route and found out that the 5 jobs they had scheduled, 2 were reassigned. They'll plead asking if there was anything I can do. And I was totally helpless. Little did they know, those jobs were simply reassigned to in-house. Not enough trouble calls. Here I am, trying to motivate them to do a good job. And their retort would leave me speechless.... "you get paid hourly, no matter what you do. You KNOW what you're getting every week. " And that's the killer. The uncertainty of how much you're taking home. Will you be able to make that car payment, car insurance, cell phone bill, rent, electrical bill, and so on and so on? As you're trying to finish an install and you're running late, that next job will be reassigned to another contractor or in-house. Money gone. Now you're desperate and so you'll take shortcuts, or you won't change that fitting. All the while, you wonder if your vehicle is still legally parked. And once all is done.... the dreaded HEALTH CHECK. Now's the time to believe in Jesus and ask the customer if there's a spare matress. You're making yourself at-home. After sweating it out and busting your butt, as you're putting your equipment away in your vehicle, you notice an orange and white envelope tucked under your wipers. HOLY S--T !! Why did you even bother to show up for work today? I'm pleading with ALL my ex-fellow technicians to SERIOUSLY CONSIDER a different profession. How much longer will you be able to carry that 28-footer on your shoulders, trying to navigate through backyards and MDUs. Or lines running over other properties. Now you need access. And you know that's not the customer's concern. No access... it's not done. Not done.... no pay. If you guys want to call this a "wake up" call..... THEN F-----G ANSWER THE PHONE!!!

Sorry, Anonymous. But it is apparent that you didn't get it. "Wake-up calls" are assurances of "not over-sleeping", or missing an appointment or opportunity. Clearly, the majority of the responses in this website ARE declaring a "wake-up" call. There are many who are nodding-off at the wheel. And as you know.... a crash always follows. And don't assume Altice will send for an ambulance right away. They will watch as you lay there dormant. You were the driver. You should've known better. And it;s obvious most of you are DUI..... Driving Under the Influence.... banking on false and hopeless dreams... thinking your new employer has your best intentions in mind. There are many unemployed. Finding a replacement is no big deal. But, one neighborhood slang comes to mind.... "Payback's a Bit-- !. A vote FOR a union will throw a huge monkey wrench into their plans. They're messing with your future. It's time to mess with theirs. What have you got to lose? If it doesn't pan out, you were leaving anyway. Signing a union card simply means that "someone else" will do the talking for you, "someone else" will do the listening, and "someone else" will hear the B.S. Altice lawyers will spew out. Nothing is agreed upon until union members vote on it. Altice will have to try to "influence" your union representative. Good luck with that. That is why any employer would prefer a "non-union atmosphere. Lions and tigers are successful when they draw out the weakest of the herd. And know this, YOU ARE DEALING WITH A TIGER. This isn't some french a-hole. He's shooting for the moon and will do "whatever it takes" to get there. And do not be shocked, if at the present time, outside contractors are being trained RIGHT NOW as replacements, should there be a wild-cat strike or work stoppage. Altice gathered Cablevision's labor histories and clearly saw "what worked" and "what didn't." THEY ARE NOT STUPID nor are they sleeping behind the wheel, like most of you. While you stall to take action, they are preparing. THERE WILL BE NO SURPRISE FOR THEM. And so, again, I beg all you guys and gals, to "smell the coffee" and wake your behinds up. You've only lmown Altice since they became your new employer a few months ago. And yet, some of you are willing to marry the first girl you meet. How pathetic. From the words of the story of the Trojan horse, the character Lacoon said, ".... Beware of Greeks bearing gifts. Do not trust enemies who bring you presents — they could very well be playing a trick." YOU HAVE BEEN TRICKED !!!
But who's calling?
