You people make me laugh , on one hand you say that once the build is complete they will not need us , on the other hand if we have a union we will still have a job "with no work " . Yea altice will pay us even if there is no work . Unions are a scam they did'nt do anything for Brooklyn . Talk to the union guys in Verizon , the new guys get entirely different contracts then the senior guys . Just remember guys it is easy to sign a card or vote in a union , but try getting your card back or voting out the union , that's when it gets interesting . Guys just make sure you keep your eyes open and know what your signing .

For Optimum ISP techs, the move is completely optional but to keep in mind that once the fiber build is complete, all technical aspects for Optimum will done by ATS... So if you don't go over to ATS, you will be let go... It's sad that someone can come up with this idea and implement it without regards to honest, hard working people who support their familes and need stability.
They are forcing our hand. I love what I do & want to keep doing what I do. Not complaining, just stating facts. Maybe ATS will be the next best company to work for and will offer benefits/perks to employees similar to Google and other awesome companies. To attract/retain talent, you must bring something to the table besides the " Just be grateful you have a job. " attitude. That's what is keeping the morale so low and will continue to do so until ATS becomes a lot more transparent and shows it has employees interest in mind also besides the obvious Altice-Agrressive cost cutting culture.
your all stupid, get out while you can I got my money...
Severance? You will get unemployment, if you are lucky.
Not a bad deal, see a 2% increase ride it out for a while. Learn new knowledge than maybe move along.
@btj - you took the words right out of my mouth. The wording they're using is designed to make us think we have some leverage or actual control over our own destiny. We have none and anyone with a clue knows that. All of the techs I've talked to lately have stated what you mentioned. "Well, after they get rid of us, at least we'll get severance." This is what a once passionate workforce has been reduced to.
I love the terms "offers" and "signing". Its a one sided contract to give up the 1 or 2 rights you had as an at will employee. Why even try to polish a turd. At least you get a severance when you get laid off now. Signing up for ATS for a 2% gain, will save thousands when eventually you are laid off by ATS. Look it up in the hand book. Wait there is no hand book or any clarity to what you are signing.
What choice do we have? I'll sign, and if I don't like it I'll move on.
