Thread regarding McKesson Corp. layoffs

My Thoughts

Good ole' boys run rampant here. I've seen the decline over the past 10 years. But it's society as a whole. People don't care. Everyone is selfish. Me me me. Work remotely. Steal resources from the company. Give 20% effort. Expensive parties on McKesson's dime.

Don't get too excited about the Irving news. 1600 layoffs won't change the poorly mismanaged divisions. The fiasco with regulatory lawsuits reaching 150 million. The recent suit filed by WV state.

Pay out legal fees but STILL not address what caused the illegal action, makes sense right? Cost of doing business aye?

Executive Leadership needs a clean slate. Management needs a clean slate. HR needs a clean slate and positions refilled with ethical, educated and reputable employees who express real empathy and good judgement. I guess we shall see if my department is affected after tomorrow's impromptu meetings.

I wonder if the Hammer will "reside" in TX - with no state income tax he gets a $10,000,000 raise just for moving.

People waiting for McKesson to change is like people waiting for Trump to make America great again. McKesson feeds on the fact that Trump is a corrupt b---s---ter who care about no one but himself. If you fall into this category, I'm sorry. You're being played, and are completely stupid and deserve to work for McKesson. Good luck hitting your head against a wall instead of being a real contribution in this world.

Don't get your hopes up. This company has real challenges in our new times. They've been riding on the legacy of the past with no strategy and spending a shtload on defensive legal actions. There is no strategy at this company, no forthright innovation. Just a bunch of dumb rich fcks that need to take their money and go away. Tell their folks to find a new life elsewhere. They don't care. There's no future anymore in drug arbitrage, especially, since McK is failings even in this immoral/illegal/disposable game. Come up with a new plan/strategy dudes/gals. Your legal department can't keep up with your biz deals. Do something right for human kind before you die you selfish pos. Seriously.

Yes, the 1600+ layoffs took place earlier this year. But there has been a lot of activity lately with the move to the new Texas office next month. I think people are getting excited for positive change when there isn't going to be any. The only thing I see happening is more layoffs since there are tax incentives from the city to hire locals. McKesson is simply moving all of the extinct management styles from an old building and plopping them into a new, more environmentally friendly building. Along with offshoring many jobs.

Totally agree with the 'good ole boy' observation. I've worked at a number of Fortune 50 companies and it appears to be particularly bad at MCK... it's a very 1950s white MBA management culture. Perhaps they spend their executive group get-aways watching reruns of Mad Men. It would be more forgivable if they actually demonstrated even a small degree of competency in their decision-making. 1950s managers making decisions about 21st century technology... what could go wrong? LOL

Where is your office? The 1600 were early this year unless you know something else.
