Thread regarding Zenith Education Group layoffs

How Can Everest Continue to Advertise They are Accredited by ACICS?

So how many more,Everest schools are going to be closed because they lack accreditation? What happens to the campuses that were on warning or probation by ACICS now that ACICS is no longer recognized by the DOE? The board of directors at ECMC must be kicking themselves for allowing Dave Hawn to dump a half billion dollars into worthless schools. These next few months should be interesting and very funny.

Maybe I should make a few suggestions to ACCSC on areas to check a little deeper.

I am sure we ALL have stories of how we dropped everything TO GET READY (lie) for an audit.

CCi led to the demise of ACICS. Zenith may lead to the demise of ACCSC.

I'm sorry to admit it, but I was one of the people that had to drop everything and work on nothing else but putting things together to pass the accreditation audits. If they ever checked deep into the resources it would have been bad. The things I could tell you, wow!

ACCSC has a lot to lose if they don't really look at Everest's and Wyotech's "cooked book" practices.

ACCSC needs to really put the schools through the wringer. I remember how we cooked the books at WyoTech every time the ACCSC were coming in to audit us. We used to print fake training certificates for the instructors so they could meet the required minimum training hours. Boy, and the things we fudge to get through the NATEF certification is hilarious. You don't really have to meet their qualifications, you just have to make it look like you do.

No contradiction: Anyone can accredit a school, but not every accreditation body is recognized by the DOE.

I worked for an employer who accredited certain schools for the purpose of tuition reimbursement. That does not mean that the DOE recognizes my employer for Title IV purposes. ACICS is the same way. ACICS can accredit schools, and there is nothing wrong with that, but the DOE doesn't recognize ACICS for Title IV funding.

Not sure what the secret was. ACICS's issues have been well documented. I don't think Hawn needed a tip from the DOE. My campus is well on its way to ACCSC accreditation and they are appropriately putting us through the wringer. Not sure if all of our campuses will make it but some sure will.

The sad thing is Zenith has been trying for a year and a half to get the schools accredited by ACCSC and have yet to meet their qualifications. The DOE secretly gave Dave Hawn 18 months warning that they were dropping ACICS. Everest Online and half the ground schools are on probation by ACICS so why would another accrediting body touch them.

Because ACICS is not recognized Title IV funds will not be available.

This organization is a JOKE from the beginning.

1kxl, you contradicted yourself. It's still valid, but the Department of Education doesn't recognize it. If the DOE doesn't recognize ACICS, how is it still valid?

The accreditation is still valid, but the USDOE doesn't recognize it.

Sorry but for the last five years of CCi I did feel we were stealing from the students. Still feel that way today. Most of us really don't care though, it's just about a paycheck anymore

That is the one thing I can say about CCi. I never felt like we were stealing from the students like I do today.

If you teach at Everest you are not a "Professor" you are just a lousy instructor. Professors are at real universities, not at diploma mills.

Hey x-men.

How about addressing the worthless assistant deans making professors push losers through the classes just so they can keep classes. It keeps the school from ever being a real college.

Does anyone know if the new DOE head appointed by Trump can stop the ACICS action?

There's a long process -gaX. We have plenty of time to get the schools moved over to ACCSC. We started the process months ago. Well ahead of any other ACICS school. While we have many other issues this isn't one of them. Do your homework before wasting our time with your rant.
