Thread regarding Wind River Systems Inc. layoffs

Post on Intel board. Any thoughts?

@L2hbtgI-iho

The company has fallen with each CEO getting progressively worse from CRB to PSO and can't imagine getting worse than BK.

With the current strategy and absolute failure in managing 14, 10, and 7nm execution the company is now past the tipping point.

The company failed to do anything after x86, yet spend untold billions on Itanium, Clear, mobile, graphics, tablets and now billions more to be wasted in modems, memory, AI, IoT and autonomous driving at a time where the profit from x86 is in decline. It is amazing the mismanagement allowed by the board.

Indeed dark times with more ACTs are a certain, likely 20k a year over the next two years. The company will be a hallow picture of itself in 2019. Collapses will be Kodak / Blackberry level collapse, epic!

When it comes to taking care of your family and paying a mortgage, people will adjust or move onto another workplace.

I'll be blunt about it, though. Lots of employees here are spoiled and act very entitled. I had to deal with the FAE that's been called out in other threads here. Wasn't pleasant: unproductive and moody. I realize she has problems she's dealing with in her personal life, but I just didn't appreciate her attitude.

It just seems that the type of people at Wind would not be successful in a large bureaucracy such as Intel. That can stifle even the most dedicated people.

I tend to agree that WRS is almost completely done. Venture capital that flows freely and angel investors that are willing to step in are in extremely short supply now a days.

I just don't see it. We are bleeding cash. Our revenues don't match our expenditures. Not a good situation for another company looking at taking WR over, also not a good situation for anyone looking at financing such a deal.

I hope you're right, but I don't see it. I just see us getting absorbed into the corporate structure of the mothership and lots of people being let go. I hope I'm wrong.

Our only chance is to get spun off like McAfee did.

Need to start asking BK if Wind will be spun off. His response to the spinning off of McAfee before it was announced was loud and clear.

Here's hoping for a spin off.

No thoughts. I'm just focusing on things I can control. My performance, my behaviour and how I treat others. That's it.
