Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Loss Prevention Department does it again, very poor ethics and no consideration for the 42 dedicated employees that they laid off.

Once again, the senior management person for LP has shown that he has no ethics engrained in his drunken body. Just so everyone knows, a former employee that worked in the home office, left Staples because he was feed up with his boss, and the way he was running the department. He went to another retailer, very large company, and was in the home office making good money and getting large bonuses. He loved the new job and did not shy away on how much better he was doing for this large retailer that has a home office in Rhode Island. This person was recently laid off from the retailer just after 4 years, and he came crawling back to Staples to see if they would re hire him. The VP created a new job position, posted it to make it look good, and just 3 short days after it was posted, he had the job. Just how poor is that? Shira needs to look into this as I feel that the 42 people who had been with Staples for many years where laid off with out a choice and this slop came crawling back after he left, to obtain another chance as he was laid off. PATHETIC As this senior management person for this department has no management skills, no people skills, and it is a fact that he has lied in a court of law, tells you a lot about this person. Staples needs the former VP of Asset Protection back in the seat again to drive this department back to its former glory days.

District94 cheats all the time, #1 in mobile repairs??? That's laughable, its simple it was a pc that came in for Diagnostic but rung up for a phone repair plus battery install. That's two (2) repairs...the LP manager walks around acting like he is Mr. Staples, by far a joke of a LP manager. Just close the doors to Staples, The company is a laughingstock. Even the clowns who were doing a horrible job managing has left, everyone from D94 leaves and heads to CVS, Petsmart or some other crap retail.

Nothing new. I'm just kid of confused as to why anyone would think anything would change? This company has always been unethical. They always have some kind of scheme. If you are not careful they will/or already have someone waiting to fill your shoes. And that is the way of staples world . It's not going to change, you either confirm and become just like them or you move on.

If they were truly an ethical company, they would include in job posts, "a strong candidate has been identified for this position", like some ethical companies do.

Posting a position, while already having an intended person for it, is an old trick at Staples. HR will usually insist on it, although I have seen several instances of people slipping into an unposted position.

They will give "courtesy interviews" to some other interested candidates, but they never have a real chance at the posted position. I went on one of these and was totally sandbagged, asked questions and saddled with blame for things that were totally out of my purview.
