Thread regarding McKesson Corp. layoffs

Merry (last) Christmas

Walking around the office during these holidays, one can't help but look at the faces and name plates of coworkers who have built Paragon with their blood, sweat and tears over the years, and recognize that so many of them will be leaving McKesson on March 31st. We will never hear a genuine 'thank you!' from the executives who are running this product into the ground, because they have no idea what this product is or what it even does. To all of those who have done their best to build this product over the years, from one colleague to all the others: THANK YOU! It has been a pleasure working with you and serving the needs of our customers. All of you matter! Whether you stay or go, have pride in what you have built at this company. Take that with you as you leave behind the lying and inept executives (including that bad joke called HR) and move forward with careers at companies where your talents are actually groomed and appreciated.

Merry Christmas. And may God bless all of you.

I take comfort in knowing that the execs have wonderful vacation homes for each season to spend with their families. That is my thank you.

EIS employees might be in prime locations, but the president of the group has made it clear that his solution to profit-generation involves off-shoring and use of H1B contractors at our office locations. The 3/31 layoffs will be the first wave that ultimately ends with replacing all FTEs. It may take a couple of years to complete fully but that's the business goal. It's what Shah has done at his previous companies, so it shouldn't be much of a surprise that that's what he's going to do here.

'Train your off-shore replacements?' Really??? That is utterly disgusting.

How many new lay offs are taking place March 31st with EIS? I am so sorry to hear this news.

At least it wasn't sudden or during the Holidays.

Hopefully with notice extended to March 31st, that gives folks time to secure a better position elsewhere. EIS employees are in the prime geographic area for opportunities.

On the contrary though for CA folks, I would not suggest interviewing or taking interest in working at McK One Post right now. I suspect all positions will move to either Texas or Arizona soon. It's too risky and volatile. And for current One Post employees, get your resume ready and be prepared. I'd be nervous with your high cost of living and limited opportunities in the Bay area right now.

Thank you very much from one of the ones being laid off. To have helped build this and then be told you must train your offshore replacement on the way out the door has made for perhaps my worst holiday season ever. And if I hear one more time how this is a business decision...............

Again, thank you for acknowledging and appreciating my pain.
