How many times do we need to be surprised - I am not - do you think that we might have job cuts in corporate again - here in Framingham.

Contract definitely needs slimming down. How many B2B's does a location need to have to work a mid-tier city? I can understand having 20-30 B2B's in places like Chicago or New York, but having 15-20 in those small markets is ridiculous. Sales Admins and Service Consultant's are another waste, their jobs can be transferred to other departments easily. In my old office, our sales admin sat on her a-- most of the reading a book waiting for sales give her a project. Service Consultant's just help with larger customers that a SAL can't handle by themselves. Have an inside rep help and give them a cut of the commission's out of the SAL's commission. Hell they've cut commission's by over 50% in the last couple years anyway.

To much dead weight towards the top. To many chiefs, not enough Indians. eed to cut some of these clowns. Cutting at store level (besides closing unprofitable stores) is just causing them to lose more sales. Same with contract. Staples can not keep hindering the customer facing employees and expect growth.

Whether OP is legit or not, Staples has to make cuts. It's inevitable. They are losing money everyday and are no longer what they once were. They are not making any decisions that will generated growth or stability so cuts must be made.

As far as the current stock price, its artificially inflated and will drop again within the next couple of months to a very low price. It maybe time to sell now.

the original post is somebody gaming this website to incite panic. They've made 30 or 40 very similar postings, a single sentence and then referencing a location or site to make it look like a real employee. Probably trying to crash the market.

I think it's a sure thing. The question is how deep. Hopefully they go after the right people. 1/3rd of the RVPs can go. Same with DMs. These people have contributed to the misery.

Good luck to everyone else. Take the severance and get a job at a company that appreciates its employees.
