I left a few years back right now - but still have good friend over there working, happily - now I am hearing that you may have job cuts in San Francisco.

Salesforce is doing quiet layoffs across the company.
I am told there have been hundreds laid off at Salesforce in 2017. The company pivots quickly and frequently and positions are eliminated.
Ricoh just laid off every Account Executive in the entire U.S today. If you weren't a Major Account Executive, or way high up- you are gone.
Salesforce.com (styled as salesƒorce) is an American cloud computing company headquartered in San Francisco, California. Though its revenue comes from a customer relationship management (CRM) product, Salesforce also capitalizes on commercial applications of social networking through acquisition. As of early 2016, it is one of the most highly valued American cloud computing companies with a market capitalization above $55 billion,[5] although the company has never turned a GAAP profit in any fiscal year since its inception in 1999.[6][7]
The company is doing very well, and is experiencing tremendous growth. Please read the annual reports and the investor briefings. If anything, they would be hiring at the moment.
