Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Can President Elect Trump Help Save State Street Jobs in America?

Ford just announced it will be keeping a major plant open in Kentucky. President Elect Trump tweeted that he worked closely with Ford's CEO to ensure that American jobs are saved.

We should all contact President Elect Trump and ask for his help in keeping our State Street jobs in America.

President Elect Trump can help save our jobs just like he helped save the Ford worker jobs.

I can explain why some workers still stayed at SST even though it became a depressing place since

2003.

As an older worker who had been there for 25 I had the following perks

  1. 5 weeks vacation

2 Ability to work from home when needed

3 A 4 day work week.

4 A salary of $59,000

Its far easier for people in their 20's 30's early 40's to job hop than people in their 50's

For the past 2 years I been working temp jobs trying to get a full time job, but most companies

do not want people in their 50's .

Yet older workers offer a company stability because unlike younger workers we are not going to

job hop.

To the last commenter, I feel the same way. After 16 years working with State Street, it was quite refreshing leaving the company last year and finding out that there is so much more out there to learn and very rejuvenating when meeting with people who don't know what it is liked to be 'brainwashed' (as you say) by the organisation that they work for. When they hear of all the low level tactics of the management team and how State Street treats its employees, they usually look at you and say 'What ever made you work there in the first place?' Anyone who thinks that their is nobility in trying to fight the innevitable and try to make them go against their operating model restructuring plan and 'save jobs' is in for a lot of heartache, stress, and hairloss. State Street is a publically traded company and its shareholders not only want profits but long term market positioning. It is time for the 'outdated' State Street worker to affront the situation by sharpening their skill sets and getting out in the job market. They are like horse & buggy drivers in the era of Henry Ford. Grow up !

Ford is not staying in the country because of Trump...they were never leaving in the first place. Yes, they are moving a car manufactured in the US to Mexico, but they were always planning on replacing it with the production of a different model. That is Trump at his best; manipulating information into lies to benefit himself. Why would you ever believe anything he ever puts out there? Especially things he tweets.

State Street haa been unrolling this plan to outsource for years. Nothing is going to change that. They will stay the course until their restructuring of the company is complete. Why stay at a company that you know is going to use you until you are worthless to them? Theres so many companies out in the world that actually treat their employees like human beings rather than trash. Now that i have left the company, I find it baffling by how brainwashed the workers are. You hate the place, yet you do nothing about it and continue to work long hours in a toxic environment knowing it will all be for nothing. Thank God I left...It was the best decision I ever made.

Gov. Baker did not support the president elect. I feel that MA is going be at the bottom of the priority list for any type of help from the feds for jobs. The president elect wants a hiring freeze on federal positions in his first 100 days in the oval office.
