I was so glad to start working here, and then I realized that this company lacks a vision, no innovation whats so ever, and no place for improvement at all. Opportunities for career improvement at Thermo are at least poor, if not non-existent. Working here for a year, and already looking for other options.

Like any global organization with hundreds of facilities, sites, and offices I'm sure there are well run and less well run locations fully dependent on local leadership. Thermo has processes in place to identify and improve the less well run locations but like all processes it takes time to see permanent results. I have been with Thermo for thirteen years after working in many other large and small companies. My background is quality and business analysis and I am in a position to observe processes at all levels within my division. I was given nothing and earned all I have acheived through hard work, personal development, patience and persistence. I am very impressed with my company's 2020 vision, goals, and development processes. Quite often those that criticize their emloyers have no patience, high/unrealistic expectations, and little to no engagement in the professional development processes employers expect employees to participate in to own their professional development. I am proud to be a Thermo Fisher Scientific employee.
Thermo acquired my company and I continued to work there several more years. Not all departments or divisions are equal to be sure but honestly I continued to advance in my career, was given new and exciting challenges, and felt respected and appreciated. For me, it was a good place to work. I left for familial reasons.
Our company was bought by them and it's gone downhill since then. You are just a number no longer a person
They talk about retention, talent and improving customer allegiance scores , yet they let experienced people go in lieu of outsourcing to other countries for lower wages. Where there are workers close to retirement there are no accommodations to help them fill a position before a temporary worker, knowing they have much more experience. This leaves a bad taste to the current employees who know their days are numbered too.
