Is it true that students at some Everest Colleges are not even eligible for Pell Grants? I found at least two remaining schools that say not eligible for Pell Grants on College Navigator.

Another existing Everest doesn't even have data because there aren't enough people repaying their loans.

I don't believe they will throw in the towel until they burn through the 250 million. I do believe there will be a few more closings and consolidations in 2017. There's no way they can keep a campus as large as Blairsville WyoTech open with 300 students. The utility bills and the real estate taxes alone run in the millions and those expenses don't change with student numbers.

2oid: ZEG will throw in the towel in accordance with The Plan. This means that enrollment will continue to dwindle to the point that all schools are consolidated or in teach out mode. Students will continue to drop out, leaving them fully liable for their loans. ECMC will continue to subsidize the operation to prevent sudden closures. DOE will continue to turn a blind eye to ongoing questionable practices and poor outcomes. Eventually, enrollment will reach a point where DOE will agree to closures and a minimal number of loans to forgive. Meanwhile, ECMC will have a treasure trove of bad debt to service for years to come. Everybody wins - except for the students, employees and taxpayers.......

The only thing keeping WyoTech going are the contracts with Volvo/Mack and Mazda. I believe the contract with Volvo/Mack expires in 2017 and they are not renewing it. Mazda is highly disappointed with the results coming out of WyoTech and the people from Mazda that put the deal together are no longer heading up the technical training. So, it doesn't look good for Mazda sticking around either.

So When Does Zenith / ECMC throw in the towel? How low does it need to go? Sure doesn't make good business sense. Maybe with the swamp being drained the the money will stop.

@KmeAEVm-mgh and @KmeAEVm-gmc, those were the latest numbers I could get from the US Department of Education. The data is from the 2015-16 school year. So yes, the numbers are mot likely lower. I'm sure ECMC and Zenith executives know what the current numbers are but won't share them.

You forgot the WyoTechs. Not sure about Daytona but Laramie and Blairsville are between 300-350. Those numbers will fall from January through April to around 200-300. Benefits are being reduced starting in January because of low enrollment and health insurance costs doubling. Watch for more closings and consolidations coming in 2017.

I QUESTION the population being over 200 for MOST of these schools. Especially when budgets (starts and attrition) have not been met for years.

These numbers are so incorrect. The Nevada location of Everest in Henderson is barely over 200! I question all of the others as well...
