The system supposedly would be based on performance, accidents, attendance etc and that if there were other jobs within the company you might b qualified for you would be told. Well as we all know now that was not done. They kept all these young college interns that had only been there a few months over people that had been with the company and worked their way up into line leaders and management and either demoted them of laid them off. Material handlers who drove forklifts and had already had so many accidents and were on final writeups were kept there to work. These people drove workers comp #'s thru the roof and still have employment. Many people that didnt have any time left vac dsys or 40hrs personal time were kept. Those of us who had vac days alwayz on time were rewarded with walking papers and depending on how long u were with the company was how ur severance pay was based. Then the week after the layoff they had a company cookout for those that were still working in Lavonia. Thank you Textron. Where did that $ come from. Also now people are working so much overtime to keep the jobs running of the ones who were let go. Weay have been let go but the job didnt end. So once again the finance team really made sense on that one. To pay 1 person 70 hrs a week now with OT instead of keeping 2 ppl at reg pay 40 hrs. Also the rule on not working over 60 hrs is not in place anymore u can work all u want just dont get hurt. The Lavonia Kautex really needs new management its a joke rules only apply as needed
