Penang was the only area which in IT was increased. All the other areas have seen most of IT, Corporate Services, and Finance gone. CIO is working to make cost of IT less than 1% of revenue.

Expect morale to go through the floor and every BU fearful of not making enough returns for Hock's game of "How to make share price bigger at any cost to the workers".

If your acquisition is anything like the last one you have about a 95% chance of being laid off.

My advice would be to prepare for your next job now but, hang around to see what the severance package is. You can likely expect your last day to be 60 days after the close of the acquisition and work backward from there. Work on your resume, LinkedIn profile, networking, etc. and start putting the word out that you'll be available soon.

AVGO IT is small, it uses SaaS or outsources the work; the core IT supports Oracle and mostly from Malaysia.

You will have a better survival chance if you're from India (where AVGO CIO's from) or Malaysia (Hock's hometown); otherwise, start looking.

Expect the new CIO to tell you how good the company is after the merger is completed and then beginning to let 90% of IT go within in a month.

I was let go within 2 months after BRCM merger.
