Well for one thing almost every person that is in Support, both application and technical, work from Home/Remote. They do thousands of problem and change orders every day due to issues with the software/hardware. They are on call and are chained to their desks 8 hrs a day since they are required to be on IM the whole time. Are you?? I work in the office and I can tell you between the daily yapping about what you did last night, the interruptions over the wall from other cubes, people selling the current fund-raiser for their kids, pictures to share, people wandering around, and the general noise level, it's hard to get anything done. I do more work at home on the one day I work from home than the entire 4 other days.

Please tell me. What is the real difference between an "Outside Service Worker" and a "Work at Home/Remote" Employee at McKesson?

They are all worthless!

I suspect soon HR support staff will be totally out. They are jumping ship as of last week. The remaining Payroll and HR functions will be outsourced to India soon.

Yes, there are a very large number of 'outside' workers assigned to some of the VPs. There were rumours floating about that there were teams working on rebuilding some of the Paragon applications with the latest technologies. That's still vaporware years later.

It seems like there are a number of undercover projects going on in EIS that very few people hear about. And management wonders why no one trusts them?

@Kh7tznc-2fie:

When you hear leadership say things like 'temporary workers are expendable', they mean that they end up saving money (compared to employees) because they don't have to pay severance or unemployment when they're let go. Likewise for any company that might buy EIS.

If there happens to be any employee still kidding themselves about being employed one or two years from now, you really need to wake up. Look through the your management hierarchy and pay attention to the number of Outside Service Workers that are assigned to the VPs. What do you think they're actually doing?

The plan all along has been to move out the employees that built these products, section by section, and replace them with offshore workers. It's in the organization's best interest to do this. I hope our customers are doing their due-diligence and recognizing that they're being sold a DOA suite of products.

I don't see how that can save any money. $60/hr = $124,000 per year! That's over $35,000 more than I make; and I'm local.

One can only hope, but it's really unlikely. Silicon Valley has been pushing the h1B rhetoric for years. NBR did a segment on this tonight, with some SV executive talking about how they need 'highly skilled, highly educated workers for the tech sector'. MCK isn't really in the tech sector, but our executives are using that same kind of thinking to justify offshoring of American jobs. And our products.

A document left at one of the office printers last year listed the rates these off-shore 'experts' are getting paid: between $60 and $70 per hour. That is just unbelievable for the quality of work we get from them. But they work for a company that knows how to game the system. As long as you have lots of user stories with 3 to 5 points each that really take a couple of hours to complete, that's all that matters. And the scum masters and release train 'engineers' remain either in on it all or deliberately unaware about it.

Oh I can't wait to come back on this forum in a few months and all of the problems will be solved. Overnight McKesson and even Trump Industries will stop outsourcing and all your jobs are saved!!!!!! Oh wait that's right corporations will use it as an excuse to make cuts to the workforce! It's a miracle. McKesson is great again! Oh wait drug prices still s--- EIS is still going to be disbanded and there will still be layoffs. If not more depending on economic shakeup(not blaming trump for that alone.) Thinking that overnight things are going to change in giant corporations supported by both candidates is not realistic
