Nothing is good at Oceaneering anymore...so much politics, a-- s---ing and back stabing. Not what is was like before. Like to see what this restructure is going to be.

Naming names not allowed on this site, you can check the site rules somewhere at the bottom of the page. I made that mistake few months ago (mentioned a colleague, not even in bad context), admins nuked all I ever written and blocked my IP. S---s big time, but I guess they take this anonymity seriously. On proxy now, super slow.

Obviously no lessons were learnt when OI acquired AGR, no due diligence, so excactly the same happened with C & C, that's almost 500m down the toilet and these people still 'manage' our Company.

Most of you are quite right this Company now works on spin not ability or effort, once the money runs out will the last person turn out the lights

We all understand that in this current downturn there will job losses, most sensible people can grasp this. But this downturn started two years ago, firstly with Asset Integrity, since it's mainly a people business, so why didn't senior management react sooner? Our Senior Team has significantly increased, poor Ill-thought out acquisitions AGR, C & C etc cost the Company hundreds of millions of dollars, for nothing. Why was nothing done sooner to look at the Company's 'star department' ROV/Sub Sea? Only 18 months ago the mantra was 15% growth......We accept the market is not great but have we kept at least 3 SVP's in their posts for over a year to handover, when normal workers are shown the door straight away? My own personal position is that our Senior Management are totally out of their depth, they are only used to managing in good times. In addition their focus is all sub sea, sure this will always be our priority but surely we need to diversify into top sides etc...We are not in good position a lot of which is our own making.

How can some of the people here be so short sighted?! Just because you can't see the bigger picture doesn't mean there isn't a plan. Sure we might lose our jobs but that can happen in any industry, it's not the end of the world. I am not any kind of management so don't start with the kool-aid drinking comment. The ideas and plans set forth have potential for growth and they secure the future of OII in the industry, this company was here before most of us and will be here after and those people in the C suites or whatever, that's their job, to secure the future of OII.

If you are disappointed at the current market then newsflash, so am I, so are many of us with kids in college, mortgages, student loans, car notes, we all have concerns. When I interviewed for this company I was well aware of their mission statement, "To increase the wealth of shareholders...etc" nowhere on there did it include, while keeping employees happy. Sure some management still s---s, we can all see that but there has been a lot of house cleaning since the disbandment of DTS, even Rome wasn't built in a day.....so don't count on the company to bleed money so that we all can keep our jobs. To quote the Godfather, "it's not personal it's just business".

And now we here of Extortion from the offshore workforce in Angola by managers for the privelege of going offshore!

"Hello all Oceaneering !

I am victim today at oceaneering, for having denounced the act of corruption, for someone who had asked me a sum of 450000 mil kuanzas to go in offshore. Some project managers, and managers in Angola until today, are not happy with the fact that I had denounced. It is justified by the fact that I do not go offshore, I will not work in onshore, but some colleagues go offshore, and will work onshore. I am receiving death threats from those who have been able to donate their money to go offshore, and those who gave money to be admitted to Oceaneering. I do not find a solution to my problem because the person who asked for money was friend and fellow project managers and administrative affairs. To this end, I decided to be able to make known the wise world especially the senior managers of Oceaneering, how a group of managers of Offshore projects at oceaneering, encourages the continuity of corruption, mistreating those who denounce these acts, By depriving them of going offshore. And with that I question, the manager of the pilots in Angola, she is not yet ready to assume this load. There are offshore for those who give them money, and those who are family and friends

Regards!"

Just Like India requiring the workforce to post a rather large sum of money for the privilege to work for Oceaneering....

Maybe OII should go under.

C & C cost Oceaneering $230m almost 18 months ago..........guess how much money it's made over that period..............SFA..........real good deal that was.

If we had a chimp as President it would have done less damage...........

I rest my case...

Especially the real poor acquisitions like AGR, C & C and Spectrum........over $450m paid......for what over the past four years? These have produced nothing for the bottom line or 'helped' the Company maybe our Management need to learn the term due diligence............

Then you wonder why we are where we are.......poor Senior Management.

I feel the way it works is if you are a friend or family or are good at s---ing butt you stay even though their work s---s. I would love to work part time and get paid full time and have my travel, food and hotel paid for but i will not apply as i am not one of the above.

How about one person that manages the training department that gets paid full time but only works part time and expenses gas, hotel and food. Trying to cut cost, well there is a big cost cut.

Stormy Seas sounds like a manager at Oceaneering drinking all the kool-aid. I have yet to see many qualified individuals in management here, they all know somebody.
