Thread regarding McKesson Corp. layoffs

McKesson HR Culture. I need to warn people about my experience in the Midwest

McKesson HR are some of the most egotistical, power hungry, uneducated, unethical, unprofessional people I've ever worked with. In my capacity as a manager, I've seen so many terrific employees walked out the door. The HR staff I've had the pleasure of working with are like the lion stalking it's prey. They love it.

And you think corporate would be concerned with the high turnover rates? The reason for so many terminations or voluntary resignations. The cost to hire and train new employees?

Hmmmmmmmm.

And to see these Imbeciles interview potential candidates? They are so intimidating it's like they are hazing new frat boys into their so-called fraternity.

The irony is, the lazy, incompetent, rude office workers that NEED to be terminated, are valued and stay on payroll for YEARS and YEARS. They refuse to learn new things, get out of their comfort zones or help others.

Don't even get me started on the remote employees.

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY?

Why is this the trend at McK?

I hear what most have posted about McK being a corporation and not a family business, finding peace in your work, interviews are supposed to be intimidating..blah blah blah. Yes, yes, we all understand this.

BUT

I have been in the work force longer than some of you have been living and have never seen so many arrogant, classless, overpaid employees destroying a company as I have at McKesson.

I agree with the poster who states you should leave ASAP if this company is destroying your health and happiness. That is advice I plan to take.

@KbpQ9BP-1zih: It's more likely that pricing ability is related more to deals made with CVS that are coming back to bite The Hammer than anything to do with Obamacare.

Personally, I'm totally fine allowing government to take away these a--hole's idea of thinking they're right to leverage and price control and make themselves rich by doing nothing but buy lie, sell high, buy low; produce zero, at the expense of other less fortunate people. Our world needs so much more than greedy bastards. Come up with something new will ya and do something for the greater good. If not, just go away.

It is a copy run by old guys that personally don't understand technology and the rapid changes effecting their market.

Obamacare is effecting manufacturers pricing abilities and it is pulling profits away from Mckesson

In 10 years, wholesalers will be in rapid decline to the the raise of 3D printed drugs. One has already been approved by FDA. Pharmacists and patients will purchase encrypted formulas and print their drugs. No need for large warehouses.

Corporate has many many meetings, taking private jets to 5 star hotels, or the CEO's requested location (usually one of his home sites). Many times, each year, to talk about this stuff. NEVER do they talk about the wellbeing of company employees. Never. Even when the obvious issue was brought up by their employees (seniors who've been flown to these meetings) who are now 'gone'.

I would be happy working for a company that actually understands technology and encourages innovation. McKesson, for all its money, has proven that it can't do either of these. We just don't have that kind of leadership. The fact that they're still distributing Excel spreadsheets to each other says plenty. Time to go.

While McKesson does have some useless baggage - any major corporation has those employees who don't provide value but stay on the payroll. If McKesson we're super in your face and micromanaging and constantly threatening people you'd be on here complaining about that. Agree worth poster that said this is a job. Every major job interview I have had has been intimidating. McKesson no more so than the others for similar positions. McKesson has it flaws for sure, for instance not making employees feel empowered, not trusting their judgment on customer perception occassionnaly... but many of you all make it sound like a detention center. NewCo is a fresh start and hopefully it's a good move for all but starting off hating everything about your company and team is no way to live life. I personally am leaving, because I feel a sense of career fatigue...some of you should look into that too. Not for fear of layoffs but for finding a place where you can come home from work and find more peace in your work.
