Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

LP NOC will be shutdown and Hicksville NOC will take over all functions.

LP Techs will be replaced by Optimum Business and FTTH (coming) techs... from ATS. LP Management... those that are not on the way out is all taking the enhanced 70 severance. 90% of LP is qualified for the enhanced severance. No one is left to organize and coordinate with a union.

Lightpath is finished.

technically they dont have to give you personal or sick or vacation time.

Technically they can tell you when to use YOUR vacation time.

Technically they can tell you that you cant carry over days.

Technically they dont have to see employees beyond just numbers on spreadsheet.

Oh wait, they are already starting to do all of this. Less time off, less pto, less holidays, blackout vacation dates, mass layoffs.

Here is the thing about the health benefits. If you take the payout and go you will have the payout and expensive health benefits. If you don't take the payout then WHEN you go- and you WiLL go (eventually a contractor security officer will escort you with a cardboard box full of your memories of the "wonderful" company that sold you out once they realized that cable is dying) again - WHEN you go you will have expensive health benefits and no payout. They are not required to give you a payout at all. You have been an at will employee for a million years now. Your severance will be considered the money they paid you between now and when they are ready to moves ops to contract labor or out of state. It is a terrible situation but it IS the situation. A better offer ain't coming. I pray I'm wrong.

It's too late for the NOC fellas right? I spoke to one of the noc boys, and he said if some steve or james fella didnt tap your shoulder by now, then it's done.

Funny because I know a LOT of people who can't take the severance because they would be paying health benefits out the butthole. You can say a LOT were offered it but a LOT won't take it because of the health benefits.
