Foundry was a broken model at intel. Arrogance in PTD doomed that.
It is now accurate with 10nm ramp Samsung and TSMC have effiectivle caught up as inte phucked 10 and 7nm programs.
Next year TSCM will ramp 7nm as will Samsung and I will bet GF will 7nm will beat intel as well. Process lead is gone, scale is gone with both those the ability to spend money will fall quickly as continuing x86 on 14nm for two more generations busts cost. Nothing more effective than scaling for cost of the next node is yielding, and it isn't.
Intel stuck on 14nm doing bigger dies and world moves to 10 and 7nm. Intel 10nm factories sit empty and x86 sales continue to plummet as nobody cares about PC but everyone wants a new phone as long as it doesn't have intel modem!
Intel will have ACT2 and ACT3 and be 50k or less if they survive 2018 at all!

Intel is way too late to that party. They play the role of uninvited guest. For decades they relied on their arrogance in maximizing profits through early introduction of leading edge technology. Those days are over as they have failed to advance their lead from 14nm to 10nm. Instead, idiots like Krzanich and Sohail have destroyed this advantage. In fact Sohail's role has been reduced to reviewing white papers. What an underqualified embarrassment! But this is typical Intel management. Now they pretend they know something about Foundries. They are now playing TSMC game who has totally turned the table on this ignorant bunch of douchebags.
