It doesn't seem like the Holidays are the best period to look for another job. I haven't gotten a single reply to any job applied since mid Nov. I guess a lot of key people go on vacation and things will start moving again in Jan (well, at least I hope...)

Yes, just phone calls. Either there is a glut of people looking? What is your opinion?
No luck on my end either... I am relieved to know I'm not the only one. Hopefully 2017 will bring in lots of job opportunities for all of us!
Normally depending on the business needs (someone quit, got dimissed) they may call you. It happened to me a couple of times, but this is not optimal as the whole hiring process/training/induction is rushed.
Yes, a lot of people are out at this time. HR, managers, other people who would be in your team that should see your resume. BUT, you also have key managers looking to hire and you can get contacted directly at any time. Keep sending resumes. 5 to 20 a day.
Don't expect too much during this period. It's really difficult to coordinate interviews, as there are always key interviewers on vacation. Keep applying to jobs, though, as January is always very active. I know it can be desperating not being contacted (but maybe for just phone screenings) for the next 4 weeks, but you need to be patient with this reality. Jan-March are always very busy in recruiting, as budgets tend to become more open for hiring. The positions you apply now, your patience, and your perseverance will be the key to your success.
I hope so too, I've had a few interviews but mostly via phone so far. Not much luck on my end either! :(
