Come on Intel. Have you not learned your lesson? Outside of x86, you s--- at building anything from ground up from your narrow skilled in house talent. Quit trying. The definition of insanity is to keep doing the exact same thing with the exact same strategy and expect completely different results.
You already have proven over and over again that you aren't capable of using your in house talent to build anything new from ground up outside of x86. Rather than build from ground up and fail miserably after spending billions trying, what you should be doing is spending those billions and buy out the number 1 company and let them do what you are incompetent in doing.
That NXP acquisition and CSR acquisition would have been a really really good move if you did it before Qualcomm did, because that would have propelled you immediately to the number 1 automotive /IOT player without you yourself being a subject matter expert in that field. But you didn't. You waited and waited as you arrogantly thought you could build it yourself. And now that you failed the first time, you think the problem is with the leader, and hiring a new leader will make a difference (it won't,).You should have gone on an acquisition spree. But you didn't..
But maybe that's good for NXP and CSR employees that you didn't acquire them. Because even if you bought NXP or CSR, you probably still would have managed to fcked that up too and fcked up those companies with your "Intel magic death touch" in which your invent the most expensive and convoluted way to drive a once thriving independent company into the ground with your management style and arrogant "I know it all" attitude you always demonstate when you tell others, who are the subject matter experts, what to do, despite you being a complete moron in that subject matter...with the end product being selling the company you bought at 1/10 the cost you paid. Again, that's brilliant.
But like always you never ever think strategically into the future. You always think strategically after waiting months/years. And only after you being significantly behind relative to the market leader, do you then decide "wow it's a great market to be entering right now" despite have no experience, no ramp up, no investment up to that point...because you think your in-house talent is so talented , their brains can make up years that the number one players have over you.
BRILLIANT STRATEGY!!! The same brilliance you exhibited in building an LTE modem from ground up that is so far behind Qualcomm, that it would take a miracle to ever catch up. (Start praying). Oh no, you didn't get a hint from Marvel that dropped out of the LTE business. Nor did he tell a hint from Broadcom when they failed and abandoned their LTE modem after 3 separate attempts. Nor did you get a hint from Nvidia when they dropped building their LTE modem....with all three companies claiming it's no longer profitable to invest further into LTE.
No, instead you spent even more money in this fruitless effort. Only to remain so far behind from the market leader business.
